Six-yr-old girl abducted at Tirumala Hills

Police said she was one of the two daughters of a couple from nearby Sri Kalahasti, who eke out a living by selling tea and coffee to visiting pilgrims at an amenities complex close to the tonsure centre on the hills.

The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with police today, after searching for her for the past two days.

Police scanned CCTV footage which showed the girl accompanied by the unknown woman walking away from the complex area on the hills.

Photographs and footage were released to the media and posted on the social media as well, police said, adding that a hunt was on to nab the woman.

Police have alerted their counterparts in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Last month nine-month old baby boy was stolen from a pilgrim couple while they were asleep in an open area in front of the Lord Venkateswara temple complex on the sacred hills.
