Six terror suspects arrested

New Delhi, November 30: Six suspected terrorists, including a Pakistani national, have been arrested over the past few days and police are probing their possible involvement in several attacks, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Wednesday.

‘Six suspected terrorists have been apprehended… One of them is a Pakistani… Investigation is still under way,’ Chidambaram told reporters here.

‘We think these persons are involved in (some terror attacks in the country),’ the home minister said.

He said police are probing their involvement in terror strikes at the German Bakery in Pune, Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the Jama Masjid shooting in Delhi last year ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

The six men have been arrested from Madhubani in Bihar, Chennai and Delhi, police said.

The arrests were made following search operations in the past three days.

However, Imran, the mastermind of the latest known terror module, and known by his first name only, is still on the run, sources told IANS.

Imran is alleged to have been providing finance and other logistical support to Indian Mujahideen terror modules, the sources said.
