Six robberies rock Delhi

New Delhi, August 13: Six robberies in a night rocked the capital New Delhi on Thursday. The rocketing crime rate in the capital has become major challenge for the Delhi Police ahead of Commonwealth Games.

As many as six cases of robbery and loot were reported on Thursday night.

According to the police, a man was robbed of Rs 40, 000 outside an ATM at Jyotinagar while miscreants looted Rs.8.5 lakh from a property dealer in Gokulpuri area around 8.30 pm.

“A burglary at C-122, Phase 1 in Ashok Vihar area of North Delhi took place at around 3 a.m. and Rs.6, 500 is missing. Nothing else is known yet. Further investigations are on,” a police official said.

Separate incidents of robbery were also reported in Kalyanpuri in east Delhi.

An official said that three people were robbed of amounts ranging between Rs. 2,000 and Rs.5,00 from different parts of Kalyanpuri.
