Jodhpur: Six members of a family, including three women, were today killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between the jeep in which they were travelling and a private bus near here, police said.
Nine persons from a family hailing from Keru village were on their way to Jodhpur to attend a condolence meeting at a relative’s house, DCP Vikas Sharma said.
“The moment they reached near Badli village towards Jodhpur this afternoon, a private bus heading towards Jaisalmer hit the jeep while trying to overtake another vehicle,” the DCP said.
Six persons died on the spot while four injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where one of them was stated to be critical, police said.
The bus driver fled from the spot, police said, adding the vehicle has been impounded and efforts were on to nab him.
