Six arrested for lynching three in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Six people were arrested and two bodies were recovered on Sunday in a case of lynching of three men on charges of stealing cattle in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, police said.

Sukra Koda, 30, and his cousins Sanatan Laguri, 32, and Surja Laguri, 25 were killed over Thursday and Friday in Udajo village, said police.

The bodies of the three men were dumped in a jungle in Maoist-affected Tonto area.

The bodies of Sanatan and Surja were recovered by police on Sunday, and officials were still looking for the body of Sukra Koda.

The three were allegedly caught by villagers and beaten up brutally on charges of stealing cattle.

Police lodged a complaint against 13 people and have arrested six so far.

This was the second such incident of violence related to cattle in a week.
