Ahmedabad, November 08: The Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation team (SIT), probing the role of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and others in th 2002 communal riots, has summoned former minister and BJP leader I K Jadeja to depose before it tomorrow.
Jadeja, now spokesperson of the state BJP, was Cabinet Minister at the time of riots in 2002, which had claimed over 1,000 lives.
“The SIT has summoned me to depose before the officials tomorrow,” Jadeja told PTI here today. “I will go for my deposition accordingly,” he added.
Jadeja said he had no role to play in any incident of the 2002 riots in the state. “Now, since they have summoned me, I will go and record my statement before the officials,” he said.
