Rajkot, January 24: Senior IPS officer Geetha Johri, a member of the Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team probing cases related to the Godhra riots, was injured when her car overturned near Limbdi town in Surendranagar district, police said today.
Johri, who currently holds the post of Rajkot Police Commissioner, was returning from Ahmedabad when her car overturned after hitting a cow on the NH 8 late last night, they said.
Johri was accompanied by her daughter when the incident occurred, police said.
The vehicle hit the animal and overturned, injuring Johri and her driver, while her daughter was safe, they said.
Johri and the driver were taken to a hospital in Rajkot and they were released after administering primary treatment, police said.
Johri, who sustained injuries on the head, also underwent an MRI which turned out to be normal, they said.
