SIT finds links of 25 cops with Nayeem: TS Govt. in affidavit to Hyderabad HC

HyderabadPrincipal Secretary of Home Department, Mr. Rajiv Trivedi informed Hyderabad High Court that 25 police officials of Telangana Police had close contacts with slain gangster Nayeem. In an affidavit filed in High Court, these details were furnished in pursuant to the direction given the court.

According to the news published in Hans India, he further said that disciplinary action is being taken at a departmental level against these officials.

It may be mentioned that High Court was hearing a PIL petition filed by K. Narayana, CPI leader.

SIT booked cases against 2 Addl. SPs, 7 DSPs, 13 Inspectors of Police, 2 head constables and a constable.

Two Addl. SPs are Maddipati Srinivasa Rao and M Chandrasekhar. Two DSPs namely, Chintamaneni Srinivas and Malineni Srinivasa Rao have been kept under suspension. Other DSPs who were given punishments are T Sai Manohar, Gonuguntla Prakash Rao, D Venkata Narasaiah, J Amarender Reddy and Thirupatanna, Hans India reported.

In the same manner, actions were taken against other police officials.

The affidavit also disclosed that so far, 237 cases were booked against the gangster and his associates.

He further mentioned that eight politicians had contacts with gangster Nayeem and cases were booked against them.
