SIT constituted to probe data theft case

Hyderabad: The Telangana Director General of Police has informed that T. Lokeswara Reddy of Indu Fortune Fields, KPHB filed a complaint before Madhapur police stating that sensitive data of individuals, including personal information, Aadhar, Voter ID, Electoral Rolls, beneficiary details of government schemes were being possessed illegally and are being misused by IT Grids India Pvt. Ltd, without consent of the individuals.

The DGP said a case has been registered under Sections 120-B, 379, 420, 188 IPC, Sec. 72 & 66 B of IT Act of Madhapur PS and was being investigated. In vies of the fact that the investigation requires expertise in investigation by Cyber Crimes involving various technologies in addition to investigation in several places other than Cyberabad requiring sustained and focused investigation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted with Stephen Raveendra, IPS, Inspector General of Police, West zone (Incharge); N. Swetha, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kamareddy District; Rohini Priyadarshini, IPS, DCP, Crimes, Cyberabad; G. Sridhar, SDPO, Narayanpet; B. Ravi Kumar Reddy, DSP, Cyberabad Crimes, Cyberabad; N. Shyam Prasad Rao, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Madhapur; Ch. Y. Srinivas, Asst. Commissioner of Police; B. Ramesh, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime, CCS; G. Venkat Rami Reddy, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime, CCS.

The Special Investigation Team shall immediately take over the investigation of the case in Cr. No. 174/2019 u/s 120-B,379,420,188 IPC Sec. 72 & 66 B of IT Act of Madhapur PS and all other related cases registered in Telangana State.
