The Special Investigation team has arrested four persons belonging to the Hindu community who they triggered the communal disturbances in Old City last Sunday by hurling legs of cows and green colour on the walls of the Hanuman Temple at Kurmaguda in Madannapet.
According to the official sources the SIT with the active assistance of Commissioner’s” Task Force, Hyderabad worked vital clues which became the cause of communal violence in the city and apprehended the accused 1) Nagaraj, who is a sanitation supervisor working at GHMC (on contract ) at Madannapet.2) Kirankumar, flower decorator 3) Ramesh @ Chinnna, waiter in Raj Hotel and 4) Dayanand Singh, private car driver of Kurmaguda, Madannapet, Hyderabad.
The accused confessed the above offence. As per their confessions and investigation it has been established that the accused Srinivas @ Salman Srinu, private money lender and Niranjan, partner in a wine shop, decided to erupt the tension between different communities in the locality of Kurmaguda in order to strengthen their unity. They instigated the above four accused and conspired to create communal hatred among the communities. Reaping political benefits by intensifying communal polarization in the city is said to be the motive behind the attack.
“We had reliable information confirming the role of four Hindu extremists in the Kurmaguda incident that started the recent communal disturbances. One of the accused was earlier arrested in the post-Bakrid communal violence incidents in the city”.
