‘Sister went to Allah’s place’

Vijayawada, June 20: Didi aur mei buske niche girgaye and didi Allah ke paas gayi (My sister and I fell under the school bus and my sister has gone to Allah), five-year-old Anshu, who came under the wheels of a school bus with her sister Ayesha (8), is seen narrating the incident to her uncle at Gollapudi village near here today. Relatives and neighbours burst into tears as the little girl narrated the incident.

The two sisters studying Class Two and UKG in St Paul’s School at Rayanapadu crossroads near here came under the wheels of the school bus they were boarding and the elder sister died due to the `negligence’ of the driver.

According to the locals, the cleaner of the bus crossed the road to get two girls waiting on the other side of the road, while four others, including Ayesha and Anshu, were boarding the bus.

Ayesha and Anshu came under the wheels of the bus as the driver started the vehicle even while they were boarding it.

The locals immediately shifted the injured girls to a hospital, where Ayesha succumbed to injuries. Anshu, who escaped with minor injuries, is still in a state of shock.

Shocked over the incident, the girls mother SK Shama said that they have bought new notebooks and textbooks only yesterday and the girls were yet to open the books.

Ayesha’s grandfather Sk Basha told Express that they had shifted the children from Swathi Vidya Nikethan to St Pauls school only this year.

Though the incident occurred at 8 am, the girls family did not file any police case till 5 pm.

Ayesha’a father SK Shamsher is working in a private lorry office at Gollapudi. Shamsher said that his dream to provide good education to his daughter were shattered with her untimely death. The driver of the school bus is absconding.
