Sisodia inaugurates transit camp for Ajmer devotees

New Delhi: A 15-day transit camp for devotees departing from Delhi to attend the annual Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti at Ajmer Sharif was today inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia at DDA Ground here.

Environment Minister Imran Hussain was also present at the function. Revenue Department has organised the transit camp.

A senior government official said the camp has been set up to facilitate travel to Ajmer of devotees coming to the national capital from all parts of the country to attend the 804th Urs of the Sufi Saint commencing on April 9.

He further said the city government has made arrangements for free stay of the devotees at Burari ground. Besides, other agencies – Health Department, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Transport Corporation and NDPL have been roped in to ensure proper facilities.

The Revenue Department has deployed a number of civil defence volunteers and installed CCTV cameras.
