Sriniwas Thakur a resident of Faridabad was lucky enough to get a priceless gift from his sister on the occasion of Rakhshabandhan this year. In a inimitable incident, a woman gave life to her brother by donating one of her kidney.
34 year old Asha donated her kidney to her elder brother 42 year old Sriniwas Thakur. The kidney transplant was carried out at the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Faridabad, on Thursday.
Thakur had high blood pressure since long and the problem was recently diagnosed as kidney failure. When doctors advised a kidney transplant, Asha offered to donate hers, said doctors.
