TDP floor leader in GHMC Singireddy Srinivas Reddy on Monday requested Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain to arrange a coordination meeting with all the GHMC floor leaders and Standing Committee members to discuss the pending works.
In a representation given the to the Mayor, the TDP reminded that in the recently held General Body meeting various decisions were taken for constituting Committees on development of graveyards, JNNURM Housing and Women welfare schemes under UCD. Further, earlier it was assured by the GHMC Commission for granting Rs 50 lakh for each ward. But, so far, no such sanctions have been accorded in all the wards. There are so many works proposals of the Corporators pending for sanction at various stages, he said.
Singireddy said that the Election Commission of India is planning to issue notification in respect of fast impending general elections to the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly by the end of February. Once notification is issued, the election code will come into effect and the works cannot be executed during that period, he said.
Therefore, the TDP leader requested the Mayor to conduct a coordination committee meeting at the earliest, to discuss the pending works and to take suitable decision as per feasibility. (INN)
