Singers not under threat by actors, says Sajid

New Delhi : In the recent past, a lot of actors have explored their talent of singing on screen. Whether it is Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor or Salman Khan, everybody is trying to strike a chord with their voice.

While singing is something that has got into the nerves of the actors as well, composer Sajid Ali from the famous duo Sajid Wajid does not believe that it will create any kind of threat to the singers.

In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Sajid said that in India, everyone is a singer, whether it is a fruit seller or a celebrity. So, everybody should have the freedom to explore and express.

“Our country is gifted with different talents and singing is something that every one of us does irrespective of the training.

There is music in even the calling of vegetable vendors here, so singing is a way of enjoying life for people in India. People enjoy music in any form, so let them enjoy it. It is not true that everything has to be taught, sometimes the most beautiful things come naturally. So, no there is no threat to singers,” Sajid told ANI.

Sajid will be seen along with Pritam, Wajid and Mika Singh, mentoring the contestants in the upcoming talent reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,’ which has completed 20 years of its journey this year.

This time the contestants would be judged by 30 juries coming from different fields of music, such as singers, composers, technicians and so on.

The contestants would have to undergo a 100-second test, within which the jury will analyse the performance to decide if they fit for the show, and in case of confusion, the mentors will take the call.

The show will go on air from March 26. (ANI)
