Andhra Pradesh’s P V Sindhu was at her flamboyant best while preventing an Air India (AI) clean sweep of the singles titles that were up for grabs in the All India Junior Ranking Tournament-2012, which climaxed on a sensational note at the Filmnagar Club here today. PET entry as a wildcard, Sindhu, demolished the top seeded Arathi Sara Sunil of Kerala 21-10, 21-5. It was only Reshma Karthik of Air India who justified the top billing while accounting for West Bengal’s fourth seeded Rituparna Das to take the Under-17 girl’s singles title.
Reshma Karthik, in fact, made it a double by partnering Sanjana Santosh to annex the doubles title toppling the second seeded pair of Sudha Kalyani D/Archana M in straight games. Ruthvika Shivani provided cheer to the locals by scoring a double while winning the Under-19 girl’s and mixed doubles titles.
