Penang (Malaysia) : Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has eased past Kirsty Gilmour to win the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold tournament here on Sunday.
The two-time bronze medallist at World Championship claimed a thumping 21-15, 21-9 win over Scotland’s Gilmour in a one-sided summit clash that lasted just 32 minutes.
Earlier, Sindhu had claimed an upset win over South Korean top seed Sung Ji Hyun in a three-game thriller to secure her spot in the final.
It was Sindhu’s fifth Grand Prix Gold event title. She had earlier won this tournament in 2013 before clinching three more Grand Prix Gold tournament titles at the Macau Open. (ANI)
