CHENNAI: Music director Kuralarasan, the younger brother of Silambarasan converts to Islam.
According to media reports, the young musician, in presence of parents T Rajhendherr and Usha accepting and embracing Islam and converting to the Muslim religion at a ceremony recently held at a mosque in Anna Salai, Chennai.

When asked about his son’s decision, T Rajendar said that he considers all religions as equal. “Tolerance of all religions is my policy. My elder son STR is an ardent Siva devotee. My daughter Ilakkiya is a Christian and now my younger son has preferred to follow Islam religion. I respect his decision,” Deccan Chronicle quotes him as saying.

After Oscar winning musician AR Rahman and Yuvan Shankar Raja, he is the third notable celebrity in Kollywood who took a leap of faith from the Hinduism to Islam.
Rahman’s original name was AS Dileep Kumar where as Shankar Raja changed his name to Abdul Haliq.
As a child-artiste, Kuralarasan was seen in his father’s movies and turned full-time composer with Simbu and Nayanthara’s Idhu Namma Aalu which released in 2016.
Kural had also finished an independent album in English and the tracks have been written and sung by US artistes. The album is recorded in New York.
