Silver futures trade higher on increased buying

New Delhi, April 09:Silver futures prices rose by Rs 133 to Rs 27,910 per kg today on increased buying by speculators in tandem with firming global trend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September contract rose by Rs 133, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 27,910 per kg with an open interest of 102 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May gained Rs 78, or 0.28 per cent, at Rs 27,528 per kg in business turnover of 13,310 lots. Traders said besides firming global trend, increased buying by speculators mainly helped silver prices to move up at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver gained 61 cent to USD 18.17 an ounce in the Asian region.
