NEW DELHI: A silent protest was held by the students of Aligarh Muslim University against the administration after it say no to art exhibit over the situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
According to a report, the students organise an Art and Photography Exhibition at Central Canteen of the University to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir on the ongoing lockdown in the Valley.
The students approached the Proctor on October 12 seeking permission for the event. However, Afifullah Khan, the Proctor, AMU denied permission without giving any valid reasons.
Therefore, they decided to hold a silent protest.
“We approached the Proctor on October 12 for permission to organise an art exhibition on October 15 as in the past show-cause notice was issued to four students for holding protest without permission. We were shocked when we were denied permission and decided to hold a silent protest,” said Mohd. Nihad, a BA student who participated in the protest, reported The Hindu.
