The most important and major festival of the Sikh Community, Prakash Utsav, the birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be celebrated at a grand scale in the city on Wednesday.
To mark the important occasion, the Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj have joined hands to make the celebration a grand success. On this occasion, a “Vishaal Deewan” (Mass Congregation) will be held at the NTR Stadium near near Indira Park from 11 am to 4 pm on Wednesday, where over 25,000 Sikh Devotees and other community faiths are likely to participate.
The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render Gurubani keertans. Bhai Dalbir Singh of Sri Harmandir Sahibji (Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjap), Bhai Onkar Singhji of Una Saheb wale (Punjab), Bhai Jaswinder Singhji, Bhai Hari Singh Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Gurdit SIngh and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite Shabad Keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus.
After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees.
On Wednesday, a Night Kirtan Darbar will be held at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad from 9.30 pm to 2.30 am in which above renowned Ragi Jathas will render Keertans and Kathas followed by fireworks display. (INN)
