Sikh organisations gherao US visa application centre

Sikh organisations today gheraoed the local visa application collection centre of the US Embassy situated near Nam Dev Chowk to protest against the killing of six Sikh devotees and injuring more than 30 others at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple, south of Winconsins’ biggest city Milwauke in the US. Various Sikh organisation and Singh Sabhas of the city formed a Sikh Coordination Committee to launch a massive protest campaign against the coward act of the terrorists targeting Sikh temples and innocent devotees participating in a congregation. . Tejinder Singh Pardesi and Gurmeet Singh both leaders of the committee said the campaign would be intensified in the coming days. The protestors raised slogans against the US administration for its lapses in the security of the minority community. They burnt the effigy of the US government also at the company bagh chowk. They also appealed to the Prime Minister to raise the issue of security of Sikhs and Sikh Temples in the US with the US President Barack Obama. UNI
