New Delhi: Indian cricketer-turned-politician and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu counter-attacked BJP for its criticism on his visit to Pakistan to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Mr Sidhu told journalists on Sunday that he knew Imran Khan for 35 years and attended the function on his invitation as a friend. He wishes long life for those who criticize him. He said he and Khan had been talking every day on the field. We had done commentary together. He went there as a friend so it should not be taken narrow-mindedly.
It must be noted that Sidhu was under fire for his Pakistan visit. He had also faced heat for hugging Pakistan army chief and sitting next to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) ‘president’ Masood Khan at the swearing-in of Imran Khan.
