Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate a two-day regional conference called ‘ Fostering Gati‘ (Governance through Accountability, Transparency and Innovation) for the states and union territories in the southern and western regions of the country here on Monday.
The two-day Conference is being organised by Government of India’s Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka.
The Conference aims to create a national platform to share experiences of the States in the field of reforms and initiatives undertaken by the Departments of Administrative Reforms in the States/Union Territories to improve public service delivery, make the administration effective, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly.
After the inaugural session, there will be presentations on: M-Governance, Aadhaar-based Citizen Service Delivery; Application of Big Data Analytics for Efficient Governance; Financial Inclusion through Use of IT and Mobility followed by panel discussion and Use of IT in Public Transport.
There will also be a Panel Discussion on Disruptions in Public Service Delivery with focus on Public Transport where Start-ups like Uber and Ola shall be invited.
On the second day of the conference, there will be presentations by some of the participating States and Union Territories. A presentation organised by NASSCOM will have ‘Startup Showcase’ where young start-ups working in the field of electronics service delivery will give presentation.
The Chief Secretary of Karnataka, Kaushik Mukherjee, the Secretary, DARPG, Devendra Chaudhry, the Additional Secretary, DARPG, Usha Sharma and other senior officers from the Central Government and State/UT Governments will attend the conference. (ANI)
