SIBN delegation steals the show at “Indus Food” 2019

The Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN), working under the patronage of Consulate General of India, led a delegation of 25 Saudi businessmen to the recently concluded second edition of “Indus Food” at India Exposition Centre, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India from 14th& 15th, January 2019.

The 25-member delegation led by the SIBN team was perceived to be one of the strongest delegations from the Middle East.

Minister of Food Processing Industries of India, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal formally inaugurated the two-day exhibition on 14th, January 2019.

H.E. Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh, Consul General of India Initiative was played a key role in making the visit of this large delegation to the Indus Food-2019 a big success. The event drew attention to abundant opportunities for Indo-Saudi business, with various well-known groups showing interest in developing partnerships. Most of the delegates expressed their desire to be part of the next Indus Food delegation in 2020.

The two-day event attended by delegates from nearly 80 countries comprising of large retailers, importers and investors along with government firms represented at the event.

Trade Promotion Council of India with the support of Dept. of Commerce, Govt. of India has organized the flagship international food show cum Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet. The food show is the largest of its kind food export promotion event was organized in India with the support of Department of Commerce with over 400 plus Indian Food & Beverage Manufacturers and Exporters exhibiting and over 500 pre-screened hosted buyers invited from across the world.

Indus Food was the most significant and vital platform for global food buyers to source, network & connect with Indian Food & Beverage industry with a large and diversified choice.

The Event zone wise segregation for the exhibitors to specifically participate and showcase their products of their respective segments covering all 12 product segments from consumer food, dairy products, marine, meat & poultry to Indian ethnic Food all under one roof.

On behalf of Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN) Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki, General Secretary signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of Indus Food between Saudi Indian Business Network (SIBN) and Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI). The SIBN & TPCI looks forward to enhancing trade between India and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia considerably in consequence of these MoU.

Saudi delegates said that it is amazing to see so many products under one roof. They are basically importing most of the commodities from the UAE, which itself imports those commodities from India. They are looking to directly buy those products from India as that will help them to substantially reduce the cost of purchase of those commodities. Saudi delegates looked for value-added products from India.
