Mainpuri (UP), March 19: Upset over their mother’s death, a brother-sister duo today allegedly attempted suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
70-year Rani Devi, wife of Ram Din, died after protracted illness. Unable to come to terms with the loss, her Sumita and son Sunil consumed sulphas tablets, sub-divisional magistrate Jaishanker Dubey said.
The siblings were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.
