Hyderabad: First CM of the newly formed Telangana State, Mr. KCR has succeeded in getting enhanced reservations for Muslims to the extent of 8% which now becomes 12%. He got the bill passed in Telangana Assembly. It is expected that his daring step will help him scale greater heights in the future.
These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily reacting to the 12% reservation bill passed in Telangana Assembly. He congratulated all the political parties who supported this bill. He told that during the past 60 years, the Muslims had come on the roads from palaces since they were meeting injustices at every level. As a result of injustice by the Govt., Muslims not only were deprived of the power but also employment. Attempts were made to finish their language. An attack was made on their culture and civilization. The owners of gardens were forced to become fruit sellers.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan further told that by granting 12% reservation to Muslims, Mr. KCR has laid down the foundation for the Muslims to return to their original position. If the Muslim community takes advantage of this facility, the restoration of its grandeur is assured. He applauded the daring steps of KCR and said that as the editor of a popular daily, he would continue to support every act of the CM which is beneficial to public. If any act of the Govt. goes against the interests of the people, it is his duty to present it in the court of the public.
He also told that Siasat Urdu Daily has always been struggling for the better future for the Muslims. He said that CM of Telangana has taken many steps for the welfare of the people. It is one of the daring steps he has taken. Now there is a need to exhibit seriousness for making representation to the Central Govt. so that this issue is not exploited by the communal elements.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan also told that history is witness that whenever any political party took steps for the welfare of Muslims, the Muslim community also came forward ten times to support it. The action taken by the State Govt. will yield its fruit in the next elections.
It may be recalled that when Dr. YSR provided 4% reservation to Muslims, he got its benefit later. In the same manner, TRS will also get the support of the Muslim community in the next General Elections.
