Siasat takes concrete measures for Assam victims

Siasat daily has initiated efforts for educational development and professional training of riot-hit Muslims of Assam. Lakhs of Muslims were displaced in the dreadful riots occurred in July this year and more than 2 lakh people were forced to take refuge in camps.

Siasat team led by Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan visited the riot-affected areas and met people living in the refugee camps. On the basis of the their report, Siasat decided to spend the Millat Fund amount collected from Siasat readers, on the educational development of Muslims of Assam. Under the plan 4 coaching centres have been set up at Cheeran and Bilaspur in which coaching for various exams will be given to youth and women will be made self-dependent by providing them vocational training.

The local Muslims have shown great enthusiasm over the move taken by Siasat. 430 candidates are said to be benefiting from the coaching camps right now. The training will continue from November 20 to January 20 next year.
