Following the report published in Siasat daily regarding illegal occupation and plotting of Waqf land by non-Muslim land grabbers on Balapur Eidgah land, officials of Waqf Board, police and revenue department sprung into action and stalled plotting of the land. The report published in Siasat daily on May 8, stressed the need to protect valuable Waqf land of Eidgah Balapur which measures 10 guntas as per Waqf record.
Later it has been revealed through the record obtained by Saroornagar Mandal Revenue office that the Eidgah Balapur has 38 guntas of land not just 10 guntas. This comes to nearly one acre land.
The revelations created stir among the land grabbers. Muslims residing near the land allege that Pahadi Shareef police has soft attitude towards land grabbers. It remains to be seen what steps would be taken by Waqf Board to protect the valuable land.
