Several families of Muslims of Burma who became targets of vicious Buddhist mob attacks have taken refuge in Hyderabad. They await relief from charitable persons for their food and shelter and rehabilitation. Seeing the misery of 46 such families staying at Shaheennagar old city, Siasat daily decided to provide and take rehabilitation measures. Faiz-e-Aam Trust extended its cooperation in this connection.
More than 190 members were provided a package comprising of food items and clothes by the Siasat daily. Mr. Zahed Ali Khan editor Siasat, Mr. Ifteqar Husain secretary Trustee Faiz-e-Aam Trust, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, managing editor Siasat, Mr. Amer Ali Khan news editor Siasat and staff of Minorities Development Forum were present on the occasion.
Narrating their tales of woes, the victims of Burma explained how they were subjected to torture by Buddhists and told that they somehow saved their lives and reached Hyderabad after travelling a distance of thousands of miles.
Recently Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan had visited Burma victims’ camp along with Ifteqar Husain. On the occasion Siasat and Faiz-e-Aam Trust jointly decided to approve relief package.
In the first phase a package comprising of food items (rice, pulses, cooking oil etc.) was distributed. Apart from this clothes were also distributed among men and women. On the occasion the Burmese Muslims thanked Siasat and Faiz-e-Aam Trust for extending help in the times of adversity. The victims told that they are ready to do labour work in Hyderabad but since they are not familiar with the local language people avoid keeping them on work.
