Hyderabad, October 19: Siasat daily gave out scholarships to 43 students for a total of Rs 90000 yesterday. Addressing the function Hafiz Qari Mohammad Naseer Uddin said Muslim community needs to move ahead in the field of education. Illustrating the examples of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Shibli Nomani, Altaf Husain Hali and Dr. Allama Iqbal he said those personalities have played an important role in the development of education and Islamic renaissance, meeting contemporary requirements at the same time sticking to the fundamentals of religion.
At the times when the country was in the clutches of servitude and Muslims were the direct target of English government, in those hard times Sir Syed felt that if Muslims wanted to come out of the crisis they had to be armed with modern education. He tried hard for the mission and Aligarh Muslim University is the live memorial of his struggle.
He said one of the several measures taken by Siasat daily is to provide education facilities by removing financial barrier. Innumerable students have completed graduation, PG engineering and medicine during the past seven years.
World famous body builder Mir Mohtasham Ali Khan and Hafiz Qari Mohammad Naseer Uddin gave out check to the students.
