(Siasat News) A function was held at Turab Ali Khan Bhavan, Salarjung Museum yesterday evening to distribute awards. Mr. Syed Vicaruddin Quadri, Chief Editor of Rahnuma-e-Deccan was given Abid Ali Khan award for 2013 in recognition of his long services in the field of journalism and for the cause of Palestine. Dignitaries present on this occasion congratulated Mr. Vicaruddin. Captain L. Panduranga Reddy was awarded Mahboob Husain Jigar Award for his courageous struggle for the restoration of the status of Osmania University
and also for the sustenance of Ganga-Jamuna civilization of Hyderabad. Mr. Syed Vicaruddin Quadri presented this award to him. Mr. Ibrahim Bin Abdullah Masquati presented Dr. Zeenath Sajida award for 2013 to Prof. Syeda Jaffer, former Head of the Dept. of Urdu, O.U. in recognition of her contribution to the field of Urdu literature, research and criticism the award given to her representative as she could not come. Prof. Syed Mujawer Husain Rizvi, former Head of the Dept. of Urdu, University of Hyderabad presented M.F. Husain Award for 2013 to Mr. Zameeruddin Nizami in recognition of his services in the field of Urdu calligraphy. Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat of Urdu Daily presented Sadiqeen Award to Mr. Syed Naseeruddin Vicar for 2013 for his painting and wood carvings.
Mr. Syed Waliuddin Zaki who designed Matbakh-e-Asafia and Azra Farukh who photographed the pictures were given awards by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily.
