Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan said that Urdu newspapers should play an effective and remarkable role in Telangana state. They should take part in making Telangana state a model state by ensuring inclusion of minorities in general and Muslims in particular. He was addressing the felicitation function of senior journalists at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall Siasat premises, Abids. A large number of Urdu journalists, writers, poets and dignitaries attended the function hosted by Telangana Age.
Mr. Zahed Ali Khan asserted that Siasat is not just a newspaper but aims at resolving educational, social and economic problems of Muslim community. He urged Muslims to persuade their children to join Indian army as Muslims’ representation in Indian Navy, Air force and other defence forces are appallingly low. He announced that Siasat will provide training to Muslim students for recruitment in army.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Ansari editor Telangana Age welcomed the guests. The journalists who were presented the awards included Khaja Azmatullah Shah (Nida-e-Hyderabad), Hadi Raheel (senior journalist), Mr. Abid Siddiqui (electronic and print media), Mr. Fazil Husain Pervaiz (editor Gawah weekly), Mr. Mohammed Khaja Makhdoom Muhiuddin (Siasat), Ibrahim Samdani (Husnul Khat), Mohammed Nasrullah Khan (Deccan News Service), Wajid Mansoor (Siyanat Awqaf), Mohsin Siddiqui (Adilabad Times), Hasan Askar (Civil Defence), Khairat Ali (Hyderabad news), Shaikh Ismail (Siasi Junoon), Anjum Rana (literary services) and Razia Begum (Social services).
