Cases were registered against a Sub-inspector of police and two constables for allegedly beating up and injuring a farm labourer near Pandalur, about 90 Kms from here. According to police, Thiruselvan had lodged a complaint that the SI and constables, attached to Erumadu station, had assaulted him, acting on a complaint by a shop owner in Aiyyankolli, with whom he had some tiff on January 21. He was admitted to the Gudalur Government Hospital on January 25 with internal and external injuries and shifted to Govenrment Hospital here last night for further treatment. Based on the complaint, police obtained orders from Gudalur Court to take action against the three policemen and cases under IPC Sec 323 (causing hurt and beating) were registered againt them this afternoon,police said.
