SI suspended for tampering with FIR

Rourkela, February 04: A sub-inspector was today suspended for allegedly tampering with an FIR in connection with the dead of a school boy in a road accident.

Superintendent of Police Diptesh Patnaik today issued the suspension orders of Brubndaban Pradhan for his alleged negligence in dealing with the case in which a student of class tenth Janapriya Swain (15) was crushed to death when a school bus hit him.

The parents of the boy, supported by local Congress leaders and hundreds of school students, demanded the police and administration to take action against the SI for tampering with the FIR.

The management of D”souza School has paid Rs one lakh as compensation and assured employment to one of the family members after the Additional District Magistrate and public got an assurance in this regard. A DSP rank officer has been assigned to investigate the incident.
