Hyderabad: Sub Inspector of police in Dubbak police station shot dead his wife and later tried to shoot self with the same service revolver in Siddipet district of Telangana on Friday.
According to police sources the incident occurred in police quarters in Dubbak town.
SI Chitti Babu opened fire on his wife Rekha, who died on the spot. Later he tried to shoot himself with the same weapon.
The sub-inspector was shifted to a hospital however his condition is said to be critical.
He is said to have resorted to extreme step due to severe depression. According to sources the SI was suspended on charges of corruption. Family sources said that he was being harassed by some senior officials.
