Hyderabad, November 25: Hundreds of aspirants of constable and sub-inspector posts staged a massive dharna near Ministers’ Quarters at Banjara Hills here on Thursday demanding that the government increase the age limit for constables and sub-inspectors recruitment by three years from 25 to 28.
The aspirants under the aegis of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti, Democratic Youth Federation of India and All India Students Federation staged dharna and raised slogans against the government demanding increase in the age limit. They asked the Ministers to prevail upon Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy to issue a fresh notification in this regard.
With just three days left for last date of application, the aspirants said that the government should take steps on immediate basis. They said they are demanding relaxation in age limit on the grounds that no police recruitment has been taken place since 2008.
Later, a few aspirants tried to barge into the Ministers’ quarters. However, their attempt was foiled by the police and they were taken into custody.
