Shuttler Sindhu bows out of Singapore Open

Singapore: Indian ace shuttler P.V Sindhu suffered a major blow as she knocked out of the Singapore Open after tasting defeat at the hands of HE Bingjiao of China on Thursday.

Sindhu failed to capitalize on her first-game victory as she was beaten 21-11, 14-21, 14-21 against her Chinese compatriot in the second round contest of the women’s singles event that lasted for 55 minutes.

In the mixed-doubles event, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Nelakurihi Sikki Reddy also crashed out of the tournament after going down 15-21, 19-21 against Chinese pair of XU Chen and MA Jin. (ANI)
