IT & Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao today said political parties are focusing on forthcoming general elections in 2019 and not for providing better future for generations to come. He stressed the need to focus on providing better future to posterity through policies, schemes and programs.
Speaking at the Telangana Excellency awards distribution program here on Monday, the IT minister said the political parties are ought to shift their focus on development and welfare of their respective States and avoid politics and focus on growth instead. KTR also reminded that he was in the US for eight years and he did not frequently met with the government. “I went to the government only once for getting driving licence”, he said.
KTR said the State government was keen on providing better education facilities to the youth and help them get jobs, he said. He took exception to some political parties indulging in politics rather than development and welfare of the people. Stating that the TRS government has strong official machinery, KTR said there was no need for Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to hold Rachcha Bandas.
KTR also favored decentralization of powers and funds to provide improved services to the people. Power concentration was not good for governance, he felt. He also cited various unique schemes and programs launched by the State government to achieve all-round development and inclusive growth. (NSS)
