SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir police late on Thursday night released the CCTV footage of the three motorcycle borne militants who might have killed the prominent journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
Releasing the photos on Twitter, the Kashmir Zone Police appealed to the public to identified the bike-borne assailants to help in bringing the killers to justice.

Shujaat, 50 was the Editor-in-Chief of English daily “Rising Kashmir” shot at close range as he boarded his car in the Press Enclave in Srinagar at around 7.15 p.m. on Wednesday to reach home in time for Iftar.
Two of his security guards Hameed Chowdhary and Mumtaz Awan, were also killed in the attack after which the assassins escaped.
The murder in broad daylight has shocked the entire media fraternity in the Valley and has been widely condemned by everybody. Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of the senior journalist in his ancestral hometown of Kheeri in Baramulla district.

Omar Abdullah, who had expressed his condolences on Thursday rushed to Bukhari’s house on Friday morning to pay his last respects. He later accompanied the body during the cremation.
