The State Human Rights Commission has directed the State Government to submit a report on Medical Labs that are carrying out illegal IVF (Test tube babies) and 4D Ultra Sound sex determination tests in the State.
On a complaint filed by High Court lawyer Arun Kumar, the SHRC has directed the Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Department Principal Secretary and Director General of Police to submit a report on the status of such illegal clinics and Labs.
The Commission has asked the government to submit its report by July 31.
Arun kumar along with some affected parties, in the petition said that there are many fertility centres in the city which are making a fast buck in the name of IVF and scanning tests.
They approached the Commission seeking action against all such clinics, duping public and going against the medical ethics. (INN)
