The State Human Rights Commission has sought an inquiry into the alleged assault of Mansoor Babukhan, nephew of ex-minister Bashiruddin Babukhan by West Zone police. SHRC chairperson Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru directed the chief secretary, state home secretary and DGP to inquire into the incident, following a complaint by some citizens.
The petitioners submitted that police is acting in prejudicial manner against their community and blamed cops for the recent incidents. The Commission chairperson directed government to respond by April 18.
