Showers bring down mercury in capital

New Delhi: Overnight showers in some parts of the national capital today brought down the mercury levels to normal for this time of the year.

“The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 23 degrees Celsius,” a MeT official said.

Light rains and thunderstorm in few areas last evening had provided relief to Delhiites from sweltering heat with the mercury falling upto nine notches.

“1.7 mm rainfall was recorded overnight. The humidity levels oscillated between 65 and 24 per cent,” the official added.

The weatherman has predicted a clear day tomorrow with the minimum and maximum temperatures settling around 39 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
