Hyderabad, October 01: Expressing shock over the threats issued by party MLAs and public representatives that they would resign their posts, Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy today appealed to them to maintain restraint and not to resort to such acts. “Actions that will affect the party’s interests will not give peace to my father,’’ he said.
In a press release here, Jagan stated that there was a need to show restraint and strengthen the hands of the Congress party leadership.
Taking inspiration from the Gandhi family, late Rajasekhara Reddy strove to turn Andhra Pradesh into `Harithandhrapradesh’ .
Blessings of Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were behind the efforts of the late leader in taking up various developmental and welfare programmes in the State. The party high command was fully aware of all the issues in the State and hence all should abide by the decision taken by it. “We all have the responsibility to strengthen Sonia Gandhi’s leadership, and should not resort to such activities that embarasses the high command,’’ he said.
The Kadapa MP called upon the party workers to take active role in membership enrolment drive and strengthen the party from grass-root level.
“The party workers should strive for success of membership drive,’’ he added.
