Show restrain, Azad tells Seemandhra team

Hyderabad, September 13: Union Minister and AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad has assured a delegation of Congress leaders from Seemandhra that he would put forward their sentiments before the High Command.

He gave this assurance when a 19-member Seemandhra delegation met him in the national capital early today morning.

A senior leader from the region told INN that the team was led by Higher Education Minister K Sailajanath and senior MP Kavuri Sambhasiva Rao. He said they had reiterated their stand that they were striving for an undivided Andhra Pradesh.

The team submitted a report listing the problems that could arise, particularly with regard to sharing of river waters in the event of bifurcation.

Azad appealed to the Seemandhra leaders to be patient and desist from making any provocative statements that could disturb the law and order situation.

Meanwhile, Seemandhra MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy appealed to the Krishna Water Tribunal to share waters among Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh on a scientific basis.
