The AICC Secretary In-charge of the State party affairs Digvijay Singh on Thursday informed that the Congress regional committees would be constituted in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media here, Digvijay Singh said that he would tour the districts of seemandhra and he would never step back apprehending protests from anybody. He will tour Visakhapatnam district in January next.
He informed that show-cause notice has been issued to the Senior Congress leader and MLA J C Diwakar Reddy for raising a tirade against the AICC president Sonia Gandhi. Action would be taken against Diwakar Reddy after receiving explanation from him. When pointed out that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy too had defied the party, Digvijay said Kiran Reddy had never talked against Sonia Gandhi. It has not come to his notice that any other Congress leader had talked against the AICC president, he added.
On the other hand, J C Diwakar Reddy made it clear that he had not yet received any show cause notice from the party. Three generations of his family had relations with the Congress, he added. The senior Congress leader said “it was bothering him to leave the Congress, having long period of attachment with it”.
Diwakar Reddy said that he had no need to reply to showcase notice even after it reached him. The PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana should contest from Tadipathri constituency in Ananthapur district, if his party had no capable candidate, he suggested. (NSS)
