New Delhi, August 26: BJP leader Arun Shourie today took a veiled dig at the BJP leadership for the haste in which Jaswant Singh was expelled from the party for praising Pakistan founder M A Jinnah.
“I read the entire book (‘Difficulty of Being Good’) at a pace somewhat slower than at what some people read Jaswant Singh’s book,” he said at a book launch function.
Though he didn’t name anybody, Shourie’s jibe was seen as targetted at BJP leadership, which has been accused of expelling Singh without reading his 669-page book ‘Jinnah- India, Partition, Independence’.
Singh himself and other critics have wondered how the BJP leaders had read the voluminous book in two days after its release as action against him had been immediate.
Despite his fate hanging in the balance with the party mulling action against him after his outburst against the BJP leadership, Shourie took time out to attend the book launch of Gurcharan Das, who is his former classmate.
