Chemical wash of the historical monument Charminar is continued at snail’s pace which shows government’s indifference towards the historical structure. Rs. 25 lakh have been spent on chemical washing of just one minaret which may delay cleaning of other 3 minarets as archaeological department is facing shortage of funds. Officials have already informed the centre about this.
More than 3 crores are required for chemical cleaning of Charminar, while the total budget of archaeological department of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is 9.25 cr. Archaeological department has already spent more that 1 cr on face-lifting of Golconda.
