Hyderabad, April 23: A miniature of Titanic lies cracked in the middle and lying at the bed of an aquarium. Another circular aquarium comes alive with tiny and colourful environs of a sea bed created inside. For the pets, there is an entire line-up of accessories and care products and moving ahead, one is greeted by the fluttering and chirping of colourful birds.
The three-day Aquarium and Pets Expo that was inaugurated by Minister for IT and Communication, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, at Zoroastrian Club, S.P.Road, brings all the needs of a pet owner and also in setting up or maintaining an aquarium at home.
45 stalls
The expo has 45 stalls, more than half offering an entire range of aquarium that are priced from Rs.50 to Rs.25,000. Whether one is looking for a small aquarium to fit on a corner table or a huge one to dominate a spacious hall, a right model with all necessary fittings and fixtures such as air pump, feed for the fish and other ornamentation can be picked up here.
Dog beds
For pets, one can browse through product ranges that different stalls have on offer. Colourful and well cushioned dog beds, hunter sticks, nail clippers and deodorant powders for your dear pet are all here.
“The dog beds with animal print covers are priced between Rs.600 to Rs.1,400 while the hunter sticks are priced from Rs.80 to Rs.180,” says Vinay of Laxmi Kennel Mart.
Looking for right footwear for your pet or a carrier for smaller ones? Nails n Tails is the stall that offers a designer range of dresses, carriers and shoes for the dogs. “The shoes range start at Rs.800 and we have lots of play items for the pets,” says young Sanket Sharma of the store.
At the ASN Pet Birds stall, visitors can catch up with chirping of the birds ‘Golden Finches’ and ‘Ring Neck Parrots ‘ and ‘Blue and Gold Macaw’.
“This is the third year we are organising the event and the response is increasing with each edition,” says M.A. Nazeer, Chief Executive of the Expo. Mr. Ponnala Lakshmaiah appreciated the initiative and said pets and aquariums act as stress-busters.
