London, April 12: A shooting spree in a rural house in Britain has left two people dead, police said.
police were called to reports of gunfire at a house in Westbury-sub-Mendip, near Cheddar, the Daily Telegraph reported.
According to the report, one man died shortly after police officers arrived on the scene and a second body was discovered in a nearby churchyard.
”At 10.39pm on Sunday a call was received by police from someone reporting that a man had been shot at a house in the village,” said an Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman, who went on to say that police “attended the scene but the man died shortly after the incident.”
”An investigation was immediately launched to identify the person responsible and inquiries led to the discovery of a man’s body in a nearby churchyard”, she added, saying that at this stage, are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.’
Shootings are rampant in Britain, a country with loose gun laws and a crime rate, which is deteriorating as more people are left without jobs due to the economic meltdown.
